If you suspect you have mold in your home or building:
- Do not touch mold or moldy items with bare hands

 Toilet Overflow
 It is important to clean it up immediately, sanitize and dry it out so not to create a mold situation. Remember mold starts to grow within three days. If this condition is left unattended, water will seep into hidden structure portions of the home and contaminate and deteriorate the structure. Water Seepage
 If there is a constant water leak such as:
- A Water Overflow of a Sink or Bathtub
- A Dishwasher Discharge
- A Gutter Overflow or a Downspout not connected
- Snow and Ice on the Roof for an extended period [Ice Dam]
- Toilet Overflow with Contamination
- a Humidifier
- Air Conditioner condensation line
- a Dishwasher Discharge Hose Leak
These problems can create a film or pond of water that stagnates. This may create a toxic mold that, if near the furnace, could circulate through the ventilation system.
Structural Damage, Resale Value and Mold
Mold can cause structural damage and deteriorate building components and lower the resale value of your property and investment. We conduct visual surveys to locate structural damage and handle the repairs.
Visual Survey for Mold [Non-Destructive]
We perform visual surveys in the home or building to check the fungal ecology or problems in a specific area as directed. The survey takes about 30-45 minutes and includes the following:
- Walking around the suspected problem area(s)
- Walking through and to the area of concern
- Viewing the area with a flashlight to highlight the suspected mold contamination or condition
- Taking moisture readings of the structure such as walls, floors, and/or ceiling surfaces to detect moisture intrusion
- Taking temperature and relative humidity readings to determine if they fall within ASHRAE recommendations
- Providing an estimate for remediation by industry standards [S-520]
Extended Visual Survey for Mold [Non-Destructive]
This survey is similar to the above, however, it may include several areas and take more time to complete. This survey includes all of the above conditions plus the following:
- All of the above survey conditions
- Walking around the entire building to visually survey (at ground level) the roof and slope of the grounds, gutters, and downspouts
- Looking at two or three areas instead of a limited area
- Checking for water intrusion
Indoor Evaluation
We will visually survey and test for mold contamination at a reasonable rate. Always remember that the young and elderly are more susceptible to the effects of mold and indoor pollutants. If you suspect that there may be a problem in the home or building, call us for an indoor evaluation.
