A Typical Case Study
In the first week of January 1999, freezing cold weather caused pipes in my home to freeze and burst, flooding both floors of my home with several inches of water. To compound the problem further, my wife and I had already relocated 2100 miles west to Arizona and my Pittsburgh home was listed for sale. Because of insurance limitations requiring occupancy of the unit, I was inadequately insured for such a disaster. The flooding made my unit impossible for sale and we risked losing tens of thousands of dollars if the unit could not be restored to its original condition on my limited budget.
Fortunately, we called Metro Restoration Cleaning Service on the recommendation of a friend. They immediately came on-site to help stem the damage, clean up the remaining water, and assess how to quickly and thoroughly dry out the property. This included expert analysis as to where water was situated behind the walls and how to best provide ventilation to these areas for maximum effectiveness. From the outset, they worked closely with my insurance company, so that I would receive maximum coverage as far as the limited provisions of my policy would allow. They also communicated constantly with my realtor to ensure that restoration was being done in such a manner as to maximize my home's resale value when the job was completed.

Metro gave me a total solution to my problem. Metro not only controlled the damage, but they took a leadership role in handling the situation. Metro coordinated work by various subcontractors I hired to do specialized work, including plumbing, carpet replacement, and floor refurbishing. Living in Arizona during this process, I needed the help of a company that was willing to take some responsibility to see that the process went along smoothly, quickly, and correctly; I found a willing partner in Metro.
Metro could have simply done the job and sent me the bill, but repeatedly I found this company willing to go the extra mile. They charged me reasonably and fairly for their work, and the extra personal service always came with no additional charge. After losing expensive marketing time during January and February, my home was back on the market full-strength when March arrived. In fact, the home was in very pristine condition, significantly better than the condition it was in when the flood first occurred. Potential buyers and friends marveled at the condition of the unit!

Suddenly, I found that I had one of the most desirable homes on the market in its price range. Within a month, I had buyers bidding against one another for the unit and my Sale of Agreement was finalized early in April. Metro's fine work was so well received by the most critical type of inspectors -- the home buyers -- that I recouped most of my losses by the amount of the sale and the speed at which it was achieved. You don't need to take my word on it; take the word of my buyer and prospective buyers. The job Metro did in restoring my home was clearly first rate!
